- This Gigabit Ethernet expansion card option provides each blade server with two additional Gigabit ports. This option increases capacity, allows for expansion of the Ethernet I/O subsystem, enables additional bandwidth and allows for connection to multiple LAN segments. It works in conjunction with all BladeCenter Fibre Channel switch options. A dual channel Ethernet controller is integrated on the expansion card, providing 1000Mbps full duplex capability and enabling simultaneous transmission and reception of data on the Ethernet local area network.
