- Description:
- The ATM Router Module provides the Catalyst 8540 MSR with high-speed internetworking between the Layer 2 and Layer 3 network topologies. The ATM Router Module has two internal interfaces to the route processor across the backplane. Each interface provides switching at 1 Gbps between Layer 2 and Layer 3 in the ATM switch. The ATM Router Module is a full-width module that occupies the entire slot in the ATM switch.
